Internship

Kia ora koutou,

Te Arawa River Iwi Trust, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment, are looking for a summer intern from the affiliate iwi (Ngāti Tahu/Ngāti Whaoa, Tuhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao, Ngāti Kearoa/Ngāti Tuarā). The paid internship is for 12 weeks over the University summer break, working from the Ministry offices in Wellington. It will focus on the relationship between Te Arawa River Iwi Trust and the Ministry for the Environment.

There will also be opportunities to work on projects across the Ministry.  This internship will suit someone who is interested in Treaty relationships, and/or environmental issues and interns are usually University student level with the internship commencing in Wellington 25 November 2019.  TARIT has previously had river iwi interns at MfE and LINZ and these internships have been very beneficial for the student, the agency and TARIT.  TARIT also provides a small financial support package to assist with relocation or other relevant costs such as travel.

If you have a student who may interested, please get them to send an Expression of Interest letter or email outlining their background and interest in this internship, along with a cover letter, by 5 November 2019 to myself at  eugene@tarit.co.nz.  I can be contacted on 027 840 2390 if potential candidates require further information.

Na Eugene.
