Each year, Mercury runs a work experience programme for undergrad – tertiary level engineering and science students over the summer vacation period, from November to February – based from our Taupo, Hamilton or Rotorua offices. This is aimed to give you, as a Summer Student, the ultimate experience across a wide variety of engineering projects by working in the offices and on-site with a range of other graduates and engineers at all levels of experience and skills. Applications are now open to high achieving, enthusiastic individuals who will embrace this opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice within our mechanical, electrical, civil or geothermal engineering teams.  Successful applicants will have the following characteristics:  

·       An interest in Energy Generation

·       Currently studying a Science (Geo) or NZQA Engineering degree

·       Strong analytical and problem solving skills

·       The passion, drive and enthusiasm to get stuck in and make a real difference

·       A full and clean New Zealand  drivers licence
