Rangatahi Opportunities within Ngati Kea Ngati Tuara

The next Kearoa Marae Open Day will be held on Sunday the 28th of June, this is a chance for the Ngati Kea Ngati Tuara youth to have a coive in creating and participating in events (sporting – marathons, cultural – singing, learning the songs potential kapa haka, leadership – learning the kaupapa of our marae etc), other hui’s and activities throughout the year.  The purpose of this hui is to get a start on forming a strong connection with our Rangatahi and organising a series of hui where there will be an over-night stay at the Marae and much more.

It is hoped that for the rest of the year the Rangatahi group will continue to organise hui, events and other activities that are an interest to Rangatahi.  The group who organise the Kearoa Marae Open Days have committed to support the Rangatahi group providing guidance and where necessary any resources.

The Kearoa Marae Open Days are informal gatherings of hapu members that have been running for a year, on the fourth Sunda of the month.  any whanau member is welcome to attend and take part in the Marae Open Day activities.  The kaupapa of the Open Days is mainly about relationship building, that is, getting to know members of other whanau, but it is also about getting to know more about the marae, how the hapu works and developing more activities for Ngati Kea ngati Tuara as a whole.  Everyone is welcome.

It is all self catered, so please bring a plate of something scrumptious to share with the whanau!!
