Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa (TPT) is a post-settlement governance entity. It was formed in December 2006 to receive, hold and manage the assets negotiated on behalf of the eleven affiliate Te Arawa iwi and hapū that it represents, known as the Affiliates.
Te Arawa River Iwi Trust represents the interests of our iwi. This includes the Waikato River catchment area which extends from the base of Huka Falls to Pohaturoa and north towards Rotorua.
Te Roopu Hauora o Te Arawa. Iwi governance bodies for Lakes District Health Board. Te Roopu Hauora o Te Arawa is made up of hapu representatives from Te Arawa. This body is involved in the planning process and are signatories to the annual plan.
Te Papa Tākaro o Te Arawa is a non profit, charitable Māori provider. Te Papa Tākaro has been mandated by Te Arawa for sport, physical activity and recreation including: education, culture and health.
The Department of Conservation is the government agency charged with conserving New Zealand’s natural and historic heritage. Ngāti Kea Ngāti Tuara has a partnership protocol with Te Papa Atawahi to protect the natural resources within our rohe.
